...nothing better than Dire Straits.
Anyways, this a slightly drunk Robin bringing an update to you (and no, despite what the time may say on this posting, it is actually nearly 10pm!)
I've been a bit quiet of late, due to my holiday in Glasgow but a lot has been going on so do read on.
The Great Partick Thistle Raffle...
The winners were drawn and the presentation made following the match with Gretna two weeks ago with Assunta Kerr and James Shaw being declared the winners of the signed away and home jerseys respectively. At the same time auction winners Assunta (yes the same one) and Susan Watson were presented with their prizes. Unfortunately Darren Brady's injury meant that he was unable to take part in the presentation as was Steph McConalogue who went with him to hospital so Jimmy Gibson stood in to help out alongside Kenny Arthur & Colin Stewart. Photo's will follow shortly, and hopefully Steph will be available soon to make the presentation of his footy boots to Susan himself.
With the last raffle ticket money being handed over on the same day, £224 was raised for the cause, and this will be added to the total shortly. Thanks to EVERYONE who took part and helped make the fundraising a success.
The Basement Tapes...
Although I froze a wee bit during my appearance with Dangerous Dave & Colin on The Basement Tapes the same evening I thoroughly enjoyed my slot on the show, not least the look on two of my friends faces when I announced the fundraiser to them on air (they were in the studio you know, its not on some kind of futuristic video radio. Just as well really as any of you who have met Dave will know
Photo's of this event will also follow but thanks in the meantime to Dave, Colin and Tallah for putting up with me, and to a mysterious individual named 'Peru' who phoned in during the show.
Enough for now I think, total will be updated in the morning once postage costs have been calculated and deducted and we can go from there - weeeeeee!
